Save the Selvages – The Ultimate Small Projects Book
$24.95STOP tossing those selvages and start SAVING them! Once upon a time, we as quilters would cut off and throw away the selvage pieces from the fabric before we started our projects. After all, we didn’t want that thicker, boring fabric to disturb the pretty piecework. But those days are gone! Sandy Thompson has written the perfect book to turn those otherwise neglected edge pieces into fast, fun, and totally addicting projects! Save the Selvages gives you the instruction and inspiration to see those edges in a totally different light! Now you can upcycle those marvelous selvages into remarkable new projects.
Fast and Fun Projects! Sandy has designed this book so that all the projects start with the same technique: complete your 8 1/2″ Foundation (s). Then flip to your favorite project and get going! Since most of the projects use the same starting pieces, you can choose to make your Foundations as you need them or create a big stash of Foundations to pull from when you feel the need to create.
Great for All Sewers! This great book is perfect for beginner, intermediate, and advanced quilters. If you like to sew, you’ll like these projects! Keep some for yourself, give others away as gifts. Whatever you do, no two projects will be exactly the same!

Wool Pressing Mat 8 1/2 in x 8 1/2 in
$19.99Felted Wool
PRESSING MAT
100% PREMIUM WOOL – MADE IN USAPress any pieced or embroidered block with ease. The density of this high-quality 100% felted wool mat absorbs seams and stitches, effectively pressing both sides at once. Block knitted projects as well by pinning them directly to the mat.
An added bonus? The texture of the wool stops fabrics from shifting so there is no distortion when pressing.
Tips and Tricks
The pressing mat can be used with a dry iron on any surface. If using steam, place the mat on a protected surface since moisture does go through the mat and can harm the surface below.Never place the mat on a rotary cutting mat when pressing. The heat could warp the cutting mat.
If mat feels damp after use, hang to air-dry before storing.Wash the mat occasionally by rinsing it in cold water and hanging the mat until dry – especially if using a spray starch.
A wool mat is a handy tool for quick pressing when kept next to your sewing machine. Enjoy!
